    • Training care givers for older persons for the benefit of both, caregiver and caretaker is indispensable.
    • Social perceptions of the value of old age and attitudes towards the old are as important as the health and care aspect. It is important that societies recognize the wealth of assets old people can provide.
    • Women and men age differently- Women actually live longer and therefore the oldest old are predominantly women. Yet, older women are poorer than older men due to social and economic inequalities. Widowhood also contributes to poverty, loneliness, and isolation as do non-established inheritance rights
